1. Introduction

This document outlines the terms governing product returns, exchanges, and refunds for purchases made from COTLAND FASHION PRIVATE LIMITED (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”) through its official website or authorized channels. By placing an order, the customer (“you”, “your”, “User”) agrees to be bound by the provisions herein.

This policy is in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Information Technology Rules, 2021, and other applicable laws and regulations governing online commerce in India.

2. Products Not Eligible for Return or Exchange

The following products are strictly non-returnable and non-exchangeable:

  • Products purchased during sale, discounted promotions, or using coupons/gift vouchers.

  • Products specifically marked as Made-to-Order or Customized, as stated on the product page.

  • Items that have been used, washed, altered, or returned without original packaging, labels, and tags.

  • Items returned after the expiry of the return/exchange eligibility window (see Clause 4.1).

3. Made-to-Order Dispatch Timeline

Certain garments listed on our website are marked as Made-to-Order, which are produced specifically against confirmed orders. Such products may require additional dispatch time beyond standard timelines.

Customers are advised to refer to the individual product pages for specific dispatch timelines. Any urgency must be communicated in writing before placing the order.

4. Exchange Policy

4.1 Eligibility

Products may be exchanged for an alternate size or style, subject to the following:

  • A written request must be submitted to sales@cotlandfashions.com within 48 working hours from the date of delivery.

  • The item must be returned in unused, unwashed, undamaged condition, with original packaging, tags, and invoice.

  • Only products not classified under Clause 2 are eligible.

4.2 Exchange Process

Upon approval of the exchange request:

  • The customer may choose to self-ship the item to the address mentioned in Clause 4.4.

  • Alternatively, COTLAND can arrange reverse pickup and re-dispatch for a flat, non-refundable fee of ₹150, which covers both directions of logistics.

4.3 One-Time Exchange Only

Only one (1) exchange request per order is permitted.

If the requested size or style is not available at the time of exchange, the customer will be issued a store credit valid for 30 days, minus applicable logistics charges.

5. Refund Policy

5.1 General Position

COTLAND FASHION does not offer refunds for products once sold and delivered, except under the following circumstances:

  • The product is confirmed to be defective or incorrect upon delivery and

  • The same is returned to us and verified through internal quality control (QC) checks.

Please note: Refunds will only be processed after our internal QC team confirms the reported defect or error upon physical inspection of the returned product.

5.2 Refund for Pre-dispatch Cancellations

If an order is cancelled prior to dispatch, a refund may be issued after deduction of non-recoverable transaction charges:

  • 3% for Prepaid Orders

  • 2% for Cash on Delivery (COD) Orders

These deductions reflect actual service fees imposed by third-party service providers, including:

  • Payment Gateway Charges (e.g., Razorpay, PhonePe, etc.)

  • COD Handling Charges by Logistics Companies

5.3 Clarification on COD Charges

COD (Cash on Delivery) is not a product-related charge, but a convenience service fee levied by logistics partners for cash collection. This fee is payable to the delivery agent/logistics company at the time of delivery and is non-recoverable in case of refund or exchange.

6. Store Credit Policy

If the desired replacement size or style is unavailable, a store credit will be issued:

  • Store credit will equal the value of the original product minus applicable logistics fees.

  • Validity: 30 calendar days

  • Must be redeemed in one single purchase

  • Non-transferable, non-refundable, and not extendable

7. Grounds for Exchange or Return Rejection

The Company reserves the right to decline any request for exchange or return under the following circumstances:

  • The item is used, washed, altered, or damaged by the customer.

  • The product is returned without tags, packaging, or proof of purchase.

  • The request was submitted after the 48-hour deadline.

  • The reason is based on personal preference, such as fabric texture, color tone, or style perception.

  • Minor discrepancies (up to 10–12%) in color, print, or appearance due to digital screen resolutions, lighting, or the handmade nature of fabrics.

  • Product belongs to a non-returnable category under Clause 2.

8. Limitation of Control Over Logistics Partners

Please be advised that COTLAND FASHION does not exercise direct control over third-party logistics companies. As such, we cannot guarantee or influence their internal handling, timelines, or cash processing standards. While we ensure reliable dispatch from our facility, delivery schedules and service behavior lie with the respective courier companies.

In case of delays, misrouted shipments, or failed pickups, we will support resolution to the best of our capacity, but liability for such service issues rests with the logistics provider.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This policy shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of India. All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
